FAQs

What is a sound-induced altered state of consciousness?

An altered state of consciousness (ASC) is simply a change in one’s normal waking state of conscious awareness, traditionally achieved through psychedelics, chanting, breathwork, and transcendental meditation. A sound-induced ASC provokes sympathetic resonance and entrainment, which alters brain waves and induces a deeply relaxed theta dream-state. In this dreamlike state, unconscious thoughts surface, and profound insights can occur, often in the form of symbolic imagery. By overriding the conscious mind (the ego), we can uncover the root cause of many issues and experience personal epiphanies.

Can I attend a session if I have been diagnosed with a mental illness?

Certain psychiatric conditions (such as schizophrenia or psychosis) can worsen when entering an altered state of consciousness. If you are receiving medical treatment from a psychiatrist or suffer from epilepsy, please do not book a session without consulting your doctor first.

Are you barrier-free?

Unfortunately, there are some stairs to reach our sanctuary. Please contact us before booking if you require assistance up and down the stairs.

How many sessions will I need?

A series of three sessions is optimal. Much can be achieved in only one session, but it is important to acknowledge that healing takes time. Nevertheless, in our experience, working with the unconscious and energetic aspects of the psyche provides profound and long-lasting results.

What are the terms of cancellation?

If you need to reschedule your session, please let us know as soon as possible. Time and energy go into preparing each session, and places are limited. We reserve the right to hold the session fee for same-day cancellations or no-shows. Retreat cancellations are refundable up to 30 days prior to the booking date, except in cases of extenuating circumstances.

I am a cisgender man. Can I attend a session?

Most sessions in our sanctuary are for cis, non-binary, female-identifying, and trans women only. We have nothing against men. We love men. However, due to the long history of patriarchal abuse and trauma imposed on the feminine, a safe, woman-centric environment dedicated to feminine healing is crucial. You are welcome to attend our open healing circle or one of our public voice baths. You are also welcome to book a private retreat.

Do you offer sliding-scale rates?

We reserve several solidarity sessions monthly for refugees, people on the disability pension, single parents, and others experiencing financial hardship. Please reach out via the contact form, and we will do our best to accommodate you within your financial means.

Do you align with a particular spiritual philosophy?

Our spiritual framework includes an eclectic mix of faiths, philosophies, and traditions. All are welcome.
